I’m Embarrassed For Seattle
I am ashamed of Seattle. They have decided to hire goats to eat their weeds. Their decision was based in part on a study that found goats to be both cheaper and more environmentally sound than using pesticides to remove weeds in public areas. Some of my campaign constituents may be shocked at my position, as I have always run on a platform of environmental awareness, so let me explain.
I’m not opposed to Seattle hiring goats. I’m opposed to Seattle hiring goats for less than they pay a human. This just isn’t right. They’re basically keeping goats in servitude.
I’m sure Seattle officials will object to this characterization, saying that while the goats were working, they were eating and would not have to buy food. But think of the kids! We have child labor laws. You don’t expect the kids to be out there working as well, do you? You can’t. So who is going to buy the food for the kids? You can’t also expect both goat parents to work at once, otherwise you’d have to figure in day care as well. Do you know how much day care costs for a goat kid?! It’s astronomical.
Goats are really getting squeezed on both ends. We expect them to work for less than a human and then we overcharge them for the same basic services that humans take for granted. I’m sure Seattle officials will say the goats will be doing exactly what goats love to do. That they won’t be enslaving them. Nonsense. Anytime you have someone who is forced to work for less than another, simply based on species, that is simply wrong. I’m about the environment but I’m also about equal pay for equal work. Those goats won’t even be getting healthcare!
I believe the public should demand the goats get equal pay for their job chewing weeds. In fact, it’s been proven that goats are more efficient than humans so perhaps they should get paid MORE. But for now, equal pay is a good start.

Something doesn’t sound right here. Are these goats here illegally? Do they even speak American-goat? Is this why they are being paid less? American goats would not work for less than federally mandated wages. So, I’m thinking these goats are not citizens and that’s how they can get away with paying them the poor wages with no benefits. Seattle refuses to pay American goats the mandated wages so they brought in these to work for cheap.
Cheysuli, I heard on the catvine that you were running for President. That’s terrific! You’ve got my vote for sure! It’s about time a decent feline woman got to be President- what a great change that would be from those awful macho men we’ve had to endure! And I love the idea of FTWD- I always knew that sooner or later we’d have to clean up the terrible mess those humans have made of things!
And don’t forget, does only get 70% of what we billy goats make. That means my wife has to eat 30% more grass just to be even. This law makes our females fat.
