I’m Not Flying South Just Yet
The busiest days for air travel will soon be upon us. If you’re looking to get bumped off a flight, the weeks around Thanksgiving were made for you. More humans fly in the month of November than all the other months of the year put together. I made that up. But I bet it’s not far from the truth.
It’s dangerous enough flying South for the winter. Why would I choose to fly when there’s ten times the normal amount of planes in the air? It might not actually be ten times the amount. I made that number up. But I bet it’s close. My point is I don’t have a suicide wish.
Pigeons don’t fly that much to begin with so a lot of us just stay put. Better to be a little cold here in Boston than tired and lost over The Carolinas, am I right. I DO make the trek each year. I like the exercise. But it’s not like I have to arrive in Florida by a certain day. If I get to Jacksonville a few weeks late, so what? Are the pigeon police gonna write me a ticket and send me back north? Not likely. Let ‘em try.
I’m gonna still fly South for the winter. I’m just leaving a little later this year to avoid the traffic.

Nagi, you’re a little out of sync. Nobody can afford to fly anymore, and the airlines are going bankrupt. Give them a call- I’ll bet they offer you a free ride South on one of their empty planes and save you wingpower.
