Hey Cheetahs, Slow Down!
They say the cheetah is the fastest animal on land. Color me, unimpressed. I can hang upside down from a branch. You don’t see ME showing off for the encyclopedia people.
I choose to eat food that doesn’t run. Let’s see - should I eat these leaves and bugs beside me or run 30 miles an hour to try and catch that gazelle? I guess that means I win the Who’s Smarter competition.
Has a cheetah ever stopped to look at a ladybug? I mean truly look? If he had he’d see how intricate and beautiful they are. (And by the way - tasty!) Has a cheetah ever stopped to watch a sunset fall over the horizon, the colors blending in such perfect harmony that it moves you deep within your soul? I doubt it. Cheetahs are missing all the subtleties Nature has to offer.
They can have their speed. To me, Life is more about enjoying the moment. Too bad the encyclopedia doesn’t have a category for Animal That Most Enjoys The Moment. I’d have one of the cheetahs run over and pick me up a submission form.
