I Have High Blood Pressure
Okay. I just had my yearly physical and the vet said I’m too high strung - even for a Chihuahua. My blood pressure is like 155 over 80. What can I say? I’m nervous. I’m shaky. I mean, look at the size of me. A cat can kick my butt. And I mean really kick it bad. I’m not exaggerating here. Let’s just say I learned the hard way I should stay out of the neighbor’s yard at night.
I’m sure there are others out there who need to calm down a little bit so I thought I’d share a few of the things I’m trying to-- WHAT WAS THAT?!! Oh. Car driving by. Let me catch my breath. Give me a sec.
Okay. First, stay out of the neighbors yard at night. Especially if they have a big cat named Herc. I know I covered this already, it’s just that I can’t stress this enough.
Also, stay away from the children’s area in the park. It can be very stressful when kids think you’re a toy and dress you up like Little Bo Peep then bury you in the sand.
The vet said exercise helps. ‘Course how am I gonna exercise when everyone carries me everywhere? One minute I’m in someone’s arms, next minute I’m in a purse, next I’m in a sack floating down a river. (I never did find out what that was about.)
Did I mention don’t go in the neighbor"s yard at night? ‘Cause that’s an important one.
If any of you guys have other tips to stay calm, let me know.

Indy, I find that a nice pinch of catnip can sooth the savage beast in me. I just get so mellow I’m like another cat. Perhaps Herc would sell you a little bag from his stash and you could try it. My Mom only lets me have it once a week but if left on my own, I would do it every day. Just be careful, it’s not for amateurs.
I always thought you guys were shaking ’cause you were cold!
Have you tried barking and barking and barking for hours at a time?
