Power To The Pooches
Denver is not a bad place for a dog to live. There are lots of outdoor restaurants where we dogs can sit near an outside table. Sometimes humans even feed us stuff they don’t want - a nice little appetizer before the kibble.
But get this: some humans thought it was unsanitary to have dogs sitting around OUTSIDE a restaurant! They tried to make a law that we couldn’t sit under cafe tables. Hey, we’re not the ones smoking and dropping food on the ground! We’re licking crumbs OFF the sidewalk. We help keep Denver clean. WE’RE the sanitary ones. It gets worse: the law would only be against dogs. They didn’t want to outlaw those messy pigeons or pass an ordinance against bugs flying into lattes. Even squirrels, who are never on a leash, would still be free to hang around.
Luckily, Denver came to its senses and will allow each restaurant to decide if we can sit outside or not. Power to the Pooches!
You know which eateries I’ll patronize.
Maybe I’ll pee on the others when I go by. I never said dogs couldn’t be unsanitary if we CHOOSE to be.

I used to live in Denver, Mr. Deefor. I liked it there, as I thought it was a nice place for cats, too. I did not like the cold and the snow though, so I moved to Florida. Instead of snow, we have lots of fleas and sand. Not a good tradeoff. I’m glad they didn’t pass that stupid law against dogs, although I’ve got nothing against insects or pigeons, who are our friends. At least they didn’t try to make it illegal for the poor homeless cats looking for a scrap to eat!
What’s the big deal? Birds have been eating at outdoor restaurants for years. No human has ever tried to pass a law forbidding us from doing it. There must be something else to this that Deefor is not telling us.
